Simply
select "check" from
the list of payment options
when prompted. You will be
asked for the check number
(use 9999 for money orders).
Your receipt/confirmation will
supply our mailing address for
check payments. Send payment
with a copy of your order to
the address provided. All orders
paid by check/MO are held and
shipped after check has
cleared our bank. For
immediate shipment, you must
pay by credit card.
While we do not maintain a
call center to accept order
info by phone, you are free to
complete the order online as a
check/money order purchase
(see above) and simply mail us
your credit card info with a
copy of your order.
We regret
that we cannot provide
efficient ordering except over
the web. To keep costs down,
our systems are optimized for
internet commerce. We do not
maintain a call center, or
provide a retail storefront
for our customers. See the
above two topics if you are
seeking an alternate method of
ordering from us.
We deal in
reproduction redware. Our
artists recreate traditional
designs, and create new
designs based on traditional
styles, but most of what we
sell dates from within the
last decade. Pieces more than
1-2 years old will typically
have the date noted in their
descriptions.
We have sold
to a limited number of
wholesale clients in the past,
and will continue to do so
when possible. Because each
piece of redware is handmade,
quantities are limited and large
scale wholesaling is not
always possible. If you are
interested in placing a
wholesale order, please email wholesale@paredware.com
for information about our
program.
Redware is a
type of earthenware pottery
typically decorated with
sliptrail or sgraffito
decoration. Pennsylvania
German (also known as the
Pennsylvania Dutch) settlers
brought redware over from the
Old World, and produced
sliptrail for common use
during the 18th and early 19th
centuries. More extensively
decorated sgraffito pieces
were often created for
decorative use, or as wedding
plates.
Yes, at this
point we only work with
Pennsylvania potters. While
there are talented redware
potters working in other parts
of the country, the number of
skilled potters located in
Central Pennsylvania means we
are able to provide a
wonderful selection of styles
and types of pottery without
venturing far from home!
Yes, the
potters we sell use only
lead-free glaze.
We're sorry,
but we do not maintain a
retail shop. Operating
exclusively online allows us
to reach a much broader
audience of collectors,
artists, and interior
designers.
